Community Advisory Committee

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) acts in an advisory capacity to the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA).  Parents, educators, care providers, and interested community members are all welcome to join.  Being a member of the CAC offers the opportunity to be involved and assist in developing, planning, and implementing activities that provide for greater success for students with exceptional needs.  Please note that ALL parents and guardians are welcome to attend any of our public meetings or CAC trainings.  There is no special application required to attend CAC.  However, if you would like to be considered a standing voting member, an application will need to be completed.  Community Advisory Committees have specific and important roles and responsibilities which are reviewed in detail in the California SELPA Community Advisory Committee Guide, 5th Edition, 2022.  Learn more by watching this informational video about how SELPAs work together with parents and districts to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
